Strategy of Shepherd Care

1. FOCUS ON SELECTED PEOPLE GROUPS
Even though Shepherd Care aspires to reach out to all the major people groups in North India, the evangelism strategy is centered on small target groups due to the large population base. It is committed to working among the 20 of them living in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi in the next five years.

2. IDENTIFY, TRAIN AND DEPLOY LOCAL WORKERS
Shepherd Care believes in developing a training plan which will help prospective missionaries to prepare for fieldwork. The trained candidates will be provided with biblically based, effective evangelism resources which will help them in doing their job effectively. Each trained pastor will identify and deploy 10 believers to form and lead small weekly home meetings in 5 villages where the disciples are taught and nurtured in the word to become witnesses. The weekly home meeting includes prayer, fellowship, Bible study, and discipleship.

3. PROVIDE PASTORAL CARE
The local pastors are exhorted to care for the believers around them. They will exercise as much godly influence as possible in the lives of their families and communities where they live. Parenthetically the believers from the local church assist pastors in different areas of ministry to the best of their ability with commitment. This includes the social aspect of the ministry such as workshops on health and hygiene, literacy programs, and vocational training, etc. All our programs are organized through the executive committee and implemented by various core groups, administrative and ministry teams.

4. CONDUCT SOCIAL WORK TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY
As part of our other initiatives, we have 6 Sewing Centers that have trained over 300 women, 6 literacy centers, 2 community schools and in the process introduced Jesus Christ to them and their families.

VISION

To shepherd peoples in India in order that they live the full life that God intends.
